The Temple of Grief

The Temple of Grief is an abstracted dungeon module for use with any game which one might use to crawl about in dungeons. It is not a complete dungeon, but a framework, upon which one or many adventures might be built.

The Temple of Grief has six tiers, or floors, or levels. These are inspired by the five alleged stages of grief, which are dubiously real, but no more or less so than this dungeon itself. It is immaterial if you believe in them; the builder of this temple surely did.

The sixth level is home to a god. A goddess, a deity, an idol, who can say. This god took something from you, which you know you can never recover. A loss so great that it can never be fully healed. A loss that must be avenged. You must remember this at all times. You venture into this dungeon not to recover that which was lost, but to exact revenge upon the god.
